Functionally-based
therapy that produces results
"There
are many different ways to perform strengthening and range
of motion activities in therapy. No matter which method you
use, the main purpose is to improve functional capabilities.
By performing these exercises in a way that best simulates
normal mechanical forces on the body, we are able to decrease
recovery time and maximize functional return."
-- John LaFree, MSPT
Orthopedics
LaFree specializes in
orthopedic physical therapy including treatment of sprains,
strains, cumulative trauma, post fracture care, and after
care for both bony and soft tissue surgical procedures including
joint replacements. The emphasis is on maximizing functional
potential through therapeutic exercises that best reproduce
normal stresses of daily activities.
Sports Medicine
With a foundation in athletic
training, LaFree attempts to aggressively progress athletes
through normal functional progressions that simulate stresses
of sports specific activities for rapid return to patient's
athletic pursuits. This is true for high school and college
athletes, as well as the recreational athlete.

Workman's Compensation
The phrase "Industrial
Athlete" has been coined, which best describes our treatment
of worker's compensation cases. These workers have become
very proficient at performance of their job tasks, much the
same as a high level athlete. LaFree manages these cases in
a similar fashion, with functional progressions working toward
return to normal job-related tasks. The faster the referral
is made the sooner return to normal job duties can occur,
minimizing lost time due to injury.
